    Week Four

It's been four weeks and everyone's just getting warmed up.

The Rocker's style is still pretty mellow. I think more of them should amp it up; be a little more outrageous. But there are exceptions. I love Lukas' whole look--he's wild and weird and Dilana's got her own thing. And Zayra--I liked the Superhero outfit. I thought it was cool. She's completely off the wall, she's unexpected every week, she's got spirit and she's doing her own thing. I love that that she sticks up for herself. And I liked her Blondie performance. For me, it was her best. I dig her style.

Storm is brave. She took Supernova's advice to change it up and dared to do the stage dive. She got a lot of credit for that (and diving in a miniskirt!). She's always consistent. Jill too. For a little package, she's got a strong voice and a big personality. For “Brown Sugar,” she was in the moment. She was criticized, but she's a tough girl. And Patrice's elimination performance was great.

Dana has an amazing voice. She's that kind of person you root for. Everyone wants her to do well. She's the youngest, most innocent but most unexpected. She's taking advice to heart and really making changes. She reminds me of last year's Suzy McNeil. Suzy wasn't anyone we thought would go the distance in the beginning but she busted out and visually changed her style. She got better every week and then just blew everyone away and made it all the way to the top three. Dana might surprise us. I look forward to seeing her evolve every week.

But I hope the Rockers take more risks. The elimination choices have been right. At this point, Supernova knows what they want. And it's our best guess what that is.

    Week Three

The music  is great, everybody is getting more comfortable and there was a lot of improvement. Plus, Tommy had some good one-liners.

Jason  added a lot to Phil's performance and I was really happy to see Jill bust out and prove she can rock it. Lukas had amazing stage  presence—  he was edgy, he has incredible style and he's very off the wall. I dig him. I'm looking forward to seeing him really sing a song, like a  ballad. Magni has an amazing voice, he's a great guitar player, and he's such a team player.  I think he's going to go a long way.  It was cool how Dilana ended the show.

It's getting tough at this point and Supernova keeps stressing how  important song choice is but the eliminations  have been pretty accurate.

A song I'd really like to see one of the  Rockers cover is Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." It was one of my favorites of last year. They had a  full-blown choir on stage for the song  last year and it was just amazing. I'd  really like to see who  could do it this year.

    The New Season

This new season of the show is definitely edgier.  With Supernova, this is  really rock and roll. We're dealing with hard core rock personalities here. Supernova is here to have a good time, and to definitely, seriously find a new singer.

First off, Supernova is creating their sound and vibe as they go along. So whoever gets the opportunity to front them has a chance to do something fresh and new; they get to be a part of an inventive sound. And because of the sound Tommy, Gilby and Jason are looking for, the show's already a lot harder.
A second great change is the added factor of having guest judges on board.

As for the Rockers, the women are really strong this year.  They're edgy and they're tough.

Which brings me to elimination.  Somebody has to go every week and it's never easy. But from hosting this show and watching these performances, you just know from the get go, who the stronger people are.
